Now make transactions using UPI in Sri Lanka and Mauritius

From now on, Indians traveling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius will be able to conduct all financial transactions using UPI. Similarly, if any citizen of Mauritius visits India, they can transfer money through UPI. Financial transactions can be made using virtual payment addresses.

The days of worrying about financial transactions while traveling abroad are over. Now, exchanging currency to dollars and keeping track of those funds are things of the past. Even when abroad, transactions can be done online via UPI (Unified Payments Interface).

How to avail the UPI facility abroad?

The UPI system has already been implemented in France and is now being launched in Sri Lanka and Mauritius. Today, Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the UPI system in both countries. Additionally, in Mauritius, financial transactions will also be facilitated through RuPay cards.

It's been announced that today at 1:00 PM, the UPI service will be launched in Sri Lanka and Mauritius through virtual means. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will be present.

According to sources from the Prime Minister's office, this initiative has been taken to showcase India's culture to the world and strengthen ties with Sri Lanka and Mauritius. With the introduction of the UPI system in Sri Lanka and Mauritius, digital transactions will become even easier and faster. This will also enhance digital connectivity between the two countries.

Indians traveling to Sri Lanka or Mauritius can now conduct all financial transactions using UPI. Similarly, if any citizen of Mauritius visits India, they can transfer money through UPI.

Financial transactions can be made using virtual payment addresses. Just as multiple transactions can be made from various banks through one app, multiple banking services will also be available.

Alongside UPI, today in Mauritius, the RuPay card service will also be launched. The issuance of RuPay cards will be facilitated by Mauritian banks. Both Indian and Mauritian citizens can use these cards for transactions in India and Mauritius.
